Emberlock was previously published as "Bouncer: Study App Blocker" and before that "Lock In – Study & Move" — same app, same developer, renamed.
Need help with Emberlock? You're in the right place. Below are answers to the questions we get most often — and if yours isn't here, just email us. Every message is read and answered by a person.

Pick the apps you want to keep out of reach, and Emberlock blocks them. When you want them back, open Emberlock and answer a few study flashcards. Get through them and your blocked apps unlock for the window you chose — 15, 30, or 60 minutes. When the timer runs out, the block comes back on.
Blocking apps on iOS is only possible through Apple's Screen Time (Family Controls) framework, so Emberlock asks for that permission to do the one thing it exists to do. It's for your own self-control: the app selections are opaque, Apple-managed tokens that stay on your device. Emberlock can't see which apps you picked, and that data never leaves your phone.
Emberlock is free to use: you get a set number of unlocks each day, and they reset at midnight. Emberlock Pro is optional and removes the daily limit — either an annual subscription (with a 3-day free trial, then billed yearly) or a single pay-once lifetime purchase. Apple handles all payment; manage or cancel the subscription any time in your Apple Account settings. Already bought Pro on another device? Open the paywall and tap Restore.
First, check the timer in Emberlock — if the unlock window has already ended, the block is doing its job. If the window is still running, force-quit Emberlock (swipe up from the bottom of the screen and flick the app away) and open it again; that re-applies the current state. Still stuck? Send us an email with what you're seeing.
